GAME VIDEO OF THE DAY

Updated October 24 by James Kennedy: The concept of battle royale has seen an interesting expansion over the past couple of years. What started out as something that was fairly specifically for filming titles, has now started to be adapted for a variety of different titles. The funniest thing is that some of the great puzzle games of all time have tried to incorporate this style. And hey, if you’re looking to dive into the genre, we think some of these games might be just what you’re looking for. This update will include two of those more offbeat picks, as well as one of the more popular games that haven’t been added to this list yet.

Super Bomberman R online

Bomberman is one of gaming’s most enduring franchises. A Bomberman has been released for the majority of consoles since the original Nintendo. And while the series certainly iterated on its classic maze-based, bomb-centric gameplay, it definitely stuck. very familiar. And you know what? The inclusion of a battle royale mode in Super Bomberman R Online hasn’t changed that.

If you’ve ever played Bomberman (and surely for god you have), then this is a title you can jump right into. The only difference here is that once you’ve taken down your enemies, you’ll be able to enter other rooms and take on another group of enemies. In each round, the winners of the previous match will be directed to new rooms. It’s exhilarating and delivers the fun of that classic Bomberman gameplay, with the thrill of a battle royale title. It may seem strange at first, but it works very well. Super Bomberman R Online is a total blast!

Tetris 99

If there’s one title not called Mario that’s seemingly universally adored by everyone from non-gamers to gaming enthusiasts, it’s Tetris. Drop blocks, make straight lines and get points. The more rows you remove, the faster the blocks fall. It is simple, elegant and beautiful. A version of versus mode found in a number of iterations of Tetris causes the lines you clear to fill your opponent’s screen. Tetris 99 that’s it… but against 98 other players. You know what list you’re reading, so you must have seen this coming.

Tetris 99 can be played quite passively. If you want, you can kind of do your own thing, play some Tetris all the way, and you’ll be just good. However, you can also target specific players and try to rack up knockouts. This will earn you medals. And the more medals you have, the more of a threat you are. Tetris 99 is an incredible example of the flexibility of the Battle Royale genre. We can only recommend this one!

Call of Duty: Warzone

If you are a newbie looking to explore the battle royale genre, Call of Duty: Warzone is one of the best games to jump into. The Call Of Duty franchise has long been the people’s FPS. Even if you’re not a big gamer, chances are you’ve played a deathmatch in COD at one point. Warzone features the same nerve-wracking action the series is known for, but with two significant changes: the game is completely free-to-play, and you battle 149 other soldiers.

It’s true, these battles can be massive! And the developers have done an admirable job of keeping things interesting. There have been a number of really spectacular events that bring some pretty interesting storylines to the genre. As, of course, other games in the genre have massive battles, but how many of them have you avoided Godzilla while trying to do so? There’s only one, baby! With intriguing events like these, Warzone does a great job of keeping things fresh and fun.

Totally accurate battlefields

Totally accurate battlefields is the kind of battle royale game designed to have you rolling around laughing with your friends. Which is a nice change of pace, as games like this often feel like they’re stressing you out more. It’s definitely the craziest battle royale title out there.

Aiming is impossible. You can put a sniper scope on a minigun. The rounds are fast and full of ridiculousness. If you’re looking for a more laid-back experience, Totally Accurate Battlegrounds is worth checking out. However, keep in mind that this is a game best enjoyed with friends.

Fortnite is still one of the best Battle Royales out there, but in reality, it’s gone way beyond its humble beginnings as a 100-player deathmatch. Royal Kingdom

Realm Royale Best Beginner BR

Don’t really want to build bases and worry about resources? Carefree! Royal Kingdom offers a completely different take on the genre while delivering a bright, eye-pleasing graphic style. This battle royale delves deeper into the fantasy world. Offering players unique magical abilities and mounts. Many new players are put off by the complex building that Fortnite may have. Realm Royale removes the building while keeping a similar feel to its combat.

Of course, there are additional features unique to Realm Royale as well. An important feature is the ability to recover after being downed. Players will transform into a chicken; if they survive for twenty seconds, they will respawn. This makes the game much less punishing for newcomers. Even if a match cannot be filled with players, bots can take their place. Which also serves to lower the stakes a bit. All in all, Realm Royale is a fantastic place to start your battle royale journey!

super royal pet

super royal pet released from early access in 2021 and immediately became a hit with fans of the genre and newcomers alike. Taking inspiration from those classic browser-based Battle Royale games, Super Animal Royale is a laid-back experience that will get your heart pumping.

The best way to describe Super Animal Royale is Animal Crossing, but if all animals had an insatiable thirst for blood. Alright, this has nothing to do with Animal Crossing… It’s a top-down battle royale with a range of weapons, vehicles (like a hamster ball that crushes your enemies when you roll over it ), and a lot of upgrades. It’s a great place to start if you want to get used to the adrenaline of a battle royale title. Oh, and did we mention it’s totally free?

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

fall guys took the world by storm upon release, and while the hype has certainly died down over the past year, it still has a thriving community. Like it should be; it’s still a fun and great example of a casual (mostly) battle royale you can play with your friends.

In Fall Guys, a bunch of beans try to rush to the end of a Takeshi’s Castle-style obstacle course. Sometimes you’ll team up to steal tails, other times it’s every man for himself as you jump around obstacles and reach the final goal. That’s pretty much the game in a nutshell. The last bean standing wins a crown. These crowns can be used to buy more interesting skins for your bean. Rinse and repeat. It’s a simple and honest pleasure!

Minecraft Hunger Games

Minecraft survival games best beginner BR

Considered the birth of online battle royale. Minecraft players have created a Hunger Games style mode where players spawn in a circle and grab what they can to survive. Of course, with the freedom Minecraft allows, players have created hundreds and hundreds of types of game modes, rules, weapons, and more.

It’s a great entry point for new players. Minecraft is generally a fairly intuitive game, which does not demand much from its players, so it is the perfect foundation for creating a user-friendly battle royale mode. Even though the survival game mode may be a cut above the base game in difficulty, it still demands far less from the player than the majority of titles in this genre. If you’re looking for a good time, hop on a casual server and let your battle royale journey begin!
