Warzone 2 call of duty releases November 16, 2022, and alongside a preview of DMZ modeActivision recently released a deep dive in what you can expect from the redesign free to play royal battle. war zone 2 promises more than just new map and some modern warfare 2 gunswith new vehicles, water combat, and a long-awaited change to how the game deals with fall damage.
Custom loadouts stay in war zone 2, but the Gulag is a bit different. Two players are randomly paired up and face off against another team of two using predetermined loadouts. These will include a Pistol or Shotgun, as well as a Lethal Grenade and a Tactical Grenade, and better gear can be found in the center of the map.
The big new change is the Jailer, an NPC who sends all four players back to the main map if defeated. Your task is to decide whether you want to take down your enemy or work together for your freedom.
The new Battle Pass does away with the traditional tier system in favor of Sectors, groups of five rewards you can spend on tokens to unlock and redeem rewards in that sector or unlock a new one.
As for fall damage, where you used to have two fall states – dead and not dead – now, war zone 2 will calculate the amount of damage you take based on how high you were when you fell. Falling off a ledge will no longer always kill you, but it can give nearby enemies an advantage as you struggle to recover.
It’s just the end of the tank – which, with other vehicles, you’ll need to manually refuel before you can use them. New guns and raids and, of course, the Escape from Tarkov-like DMZ mode, with Caldera updates should keep war zone 2 feel great in its first season.
