Fall Guys players think it’s now faster to upgrade your battle pass if you lose rather than win.
That’s because of the game’s all-new progression and monetization systems that were introduced when the game switched to a free-to-play model earlier this week.
As Gamerant spotted, players can still level up their Battle Pass, but with new daily, weekly, and long-term challenges now available, it looks like maxing them out will help you progress faster than winning matches… and given how long it takes to get a winning crown, you could potentially earn the same amount of fame faster just by crashing in the early rounds.
“It’s like medals don’t have any meaning anymore,” said one player on the game’s subreddit. they removed kudos as a reward, you no longer earn bonus kudos and apparently you gain more or less the same fame no matter what medal you receive either it’s a bug or Mediatonic doesn’t have a brain.”
Another went even further and capped his progress screens to show how Renown rewards differ, saying, “It doesn’t motivate players to play better, and it might encourage others to start Renown. of AFK agriculture.”
Nothing can take away the bragging rights of getting a crown, of course, but it’s frustrating for some players that you can seemingly generate XP faster by messing up and quitting matches in the early rounds.
ICYMI, within 48 hours of the colorful battle royale knockout game, Fall Guys announced that it had hit 20 million players. This is despite an issue that prevented some players from finding matches following server issues caused by the game’s free-to-play, cross-platform relaunch. The game ran into similar issues when it debuted on PlayStation 4 and Steam in 2020. .
Epic acquired Mediatonic last year and has since slowly integrated Fall Guys into Epic’s ecosystem. Players must now log in with an Epic Games account to play, and the game has been removed from the Steam storefront in favor of the Epic Games Store.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to get kudos in Fall Guys and what you can spend it on.
