Fortnite’s new island appears to be part of a multiverse in Chapter 3, Season 1.

The new Battle Royale game season launched on Sunday, December 5 at 10:00 a.m. EST (3:00 p.m. GMT) with a plethora of new items. For space fans, the content includes a crescent moon-themed Ronin set and a loading screen showing the Fortnite Island floating in a multiverse-like bubble.

Players like us who purchased the Season Battle Pass (950 V-Bucks, roughly $ 7.99 USD) struggled to log into Fortnite in the first few hours after release due to the increased server load, which makes it hard to tell what the island is on after completely rocking during an alien-themed event that wraps up Chapter 2 of Season 8 on Saturday (December 4).

“We are aware that connections, purchases, parties and pairing may be delayed. We will provide an update when this is back to normal,” says Fortnite’s game status account. on Twitter said on Saturday reported delays.

The final event included an appearance by the Foundation (Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock) along with other members of the mysterious Seven, a group of beings trying to save reality by stabilizing the zero point that keeps the Fortnite omniverse going. .

Zero point instability has been doing a lot of things on Fortnite’s island in recent months, including returning players to prehistoric times in Chapter 2, Season 6, and unleashing a bunch of energy on the island in Chapter 2, Season 7 after an alien mothership destroyed an arrow temporarily sealing the Singularity.

Media reports suggest the Seven (who have struggled to keep zero point under control for some time) will be a big part of the new island. On the space side, there would be a base benchmark of seven rockets on the new map. Fortnite maker Epic Games claims the Seven have shrines all over the island, but has yet to confirm the existence of the rocket base.

According to Epic, new gameplay elements for the season include weather effects such as lightning and tornadoes as well as guns, plus guns for players. On the movement side, a new sliding feature allows players to shoot and build even as they descend.

Space fans who can wait a few weeks will see the first confirmed piece of space lore this season, which is the arrival of famous “Star Wars” bounty hunter Boba Fett. Boba who will be heading to the island on December 24 to announce the franchise’s new spin-off on Disney Plus, “The Book of Boba Fett”.

We expect Fortnite to provide more space content soon given recent history. The game is known to have dropped space references and other “Star Wars” content, including a Mandalorian-themed season in late 2020 and early 2021.
