Fortnite fans got a taste of what to expect from the end of season event and Chapter 3.
The final season of Fortnite will end on Saturday, December 4. Entitled “The End”, the season finale event takes place at 21:00 GMT for fans living in the UK.
If rumors are to be believed, the end of season event will be followed by an extended server downtime.
Much like the transition from Chapter 1 to Chapter 2, the downtime can last for a few days.
In the meantime, fans have been speculating on the nature of the end-of-season event and what changes will come with the launch of Chapter 3.
Judging from the last leaked trailer (below), the end-of-season event should be pretty spectacular. Needless to say, there are huge spoilers ahead, so be forewarned.
As you can see from the leaked video, the card appears to have been engulfed during the events of “The End” and potentially flipped.
This is followed by a huge tidal wave that looks set to erase the current map and usher in something entirely new.
It’s believed that Chapter 3’s map will contain more diverse biomes, possibly even the return of Paradise Palms.
Fans can know for sure when ‘The End’ takes place on December 4 at 9 p.m. GMT.
In the meantime, Fortnite developer Epic Games is making sure the current season ends on a high.
Indeed, a recent patch introduced party worlds, which are similar to hubs, albeit with more emphasis on social interactions and mini-games.
“While gamers can hang out at hubs, their primary focus is on spawning fun content and islands and helping gamers discover creative experiences,” says Epic.
“Party Worlds are places designed to be fun places to hang out with friends and potentially make new ones.
This comes in addition to a new Air Jordan collaboration, as well as the release of the Nick Fury skin.
According to the recently released patch patch notes, all NPC and Exotics are now 50% cheaper until the end of the season.
This means that you can grab some of the best weapons in the game without having to spend too much gold.
Elsewhere, the One Shot Duos LTM is also live, while previous Wild Week changes have been rolled back.
