Overwatch 2 is underway, so now is a good time to look to the future and take a look at what Season 2 will look like.
Hardcore Overwatch 2 fans will always look forward to the upcoming season even though the current season is not over yet. From the looks of it, Blizzard is planning to bring a pretty good amount of new content to get the ball rolling in Overwatch 2.
that you grindranked matches in Overwatch 2 or you’re looking for the latest skins, there’s no harm in letting you know about the upcoming new season right now. Fortunately, Blizzard has already set our expectations for the upcoming final season.
When is Overwatch 2 Season 2 release date?
It seems obvious, but Overwatch 2 Season 2 will start at the end of Overwatch 2 Season 1.
Thankfully, Blizzard has already given fans an idea of when they can expect future updates to arrive with a tentative early access roadmap.
According to this roadmap, Blizzard has confirmed that Season 2 of Overwatch 2 starts December 6.
Of course, that could change, so be on the lookout for updates throughout November 2022.
Overwatch 2 season 2 new hero
Blizzard has confirmed that there will be a new hero is coming in season 2 from Overwatch 2. We even know that the new upcoming hero will be a tank role hero.
Curiously, during an Overwatch League live stream, game director Aaron Keller went a step further, teasing that the new hero is a character players already know.
“In Season 2, we’re going to debut a new hero,” Keller said during the Overwatch League live stream. “He’s a tank hero, and he’s someone the players have seen before.”
This narrows down the possible characters, but our bet is on Mauga, Baptiste’s muscular former friend who was seen in the short story What You Left Behind.
Overwatch 2 season 2 new map
In addition to the upcoming new tank hero, Season 2 of Overwatch 2 will also feature a brand new map so that the players also benefit from it. At the moment, it is not yet known what game mode this new map will have.
However, the game director also confirmed during the October 7 livestream that the new tank hero is “connected to this map”.
We’ll update this page once a clearer picture is painted by Blizzard.
Overwatch 2 Season 2 Battle Pass & Skins
Blizzard also plans to add over 30 new skins to the game, including an all-new Mythic skin. Mythic skins are the newest level of skin rarity in Overwatch 2. Although it’s a bit limited, players can actually customize Mythic skins to look whatever they want. At the moment, only Genji has a mythic skin in the game.
Of course, a new season also means a new battle pass. At the moment, we expect the mythic skin to be locked behind the battle pass for season 2 of the game.
